Services
Residential Solar Residential Solar
We specialise in residential solar panel installation that empowers homeowners to take control of their energy use. Each project begins with a detailed assessment to ensure the system is designed for optimal performance. With a focus on quality workmanship and dependable technology, we provide solar solutions that deliver consistent energy benefits over time.
Commercial Solar Panels Commercial Solar Panels
Our commercial solar service focuses on delivering bespoke installations that reflect the individual energy demands of each business. We apply our technical expertise to plan and implement reliable systems using high-quality equipment. This approach allows us to help organisations reduce energy costs while strengthening their commitment to sustainable energy practices.
EV Charger Installation EV Charger Installation
We deliver dependable and efficient EV charger installations for both residential and commercial settings. Drawing on our background in renewable energy, we provide high-quality charging solutions that support the transition to electric vehicles. Our systems are designed for convenient daily use and can be integrated with existing solar panels to promote cleaner, more cost-effective charging.
Battery Storage Battery Storage
Our battery storage solutions are designed to deliver greater control over energy usage. Stored solar power can be utilised during peak demand or overnight, reducing dependence on grid electricity. This results in improved efficiency, enhanced energy security, and meaningful savings for both residential and commercial customers.
Cheshire
Cheshire West and Chester Council has run Solar Together, now Switch Together Solar, as a group-buy scheme. Group buys are convenient, but they tie you to one supplier and one panel spec. Gen Green designs the system around your own roof and budget, and you keep your choice of kit. As a local installer that is MCS certified and NICEIC approved, we are happy to put our Cheshire quote side by side with any scheme offer so you can compare.
Chester
Chester is home ground for Gen Green. We are based on the edge of the city, so a survey in Hoole, Handbridge, Blacon, Saltney or Vicars Cross is a short drive for our own team, not a subcontracted visit from a national firm. We also cover Boughton, Great Boughton, Newton, Upton and Christleton, plus villages such as Tarvin, Waverton, Mickle Trafford, Guilden Sutton and Tattenhall. Panels, batteries and EV chargers are all fitted by us, and all electrical work stays in-house as a NICEIC approved contractor.
Crewe
Storage pays twice in Crewe and Nantwich. A battery holds midday solar for the evening rather than exporting it for a few pence, and on a time of use tariff it can charge cheaply overnight and discharge through the expensive evening peak, which saves money even in winter. Gen Green installs Tesla Powerwall and Fox ESS batteries, sized to your evening consumption rather than to the size of the array. GivEnergy systems are also available for south Cheshire homes.
Liverpool
ECO4 is the main route to funded solar on Merseyside. Liverpool households on qualifying means-tested benefits, or referred by the council under flexible eligibility, can have measures funded in full, usually where the EPC rating is poor, and insulation is normally dealt with before renewables. Every domestic installation also carries 0% VAT with no means test, and every system qualifies for the Smart Export Guarantee. Gen Green checks what applies at the free survey and handles the applications.
North Wales
Without storage, spare solar from a North Wales roof is exported at SEG rates lower than the price of the grid power you buy back in the evening. Gen Green fits batteries from Tesla Powerwall, GivEnergy, Huawei and other leading manufacturers to close that gap. A battery can lift self-consumption from 40% to as much as 80%. On a typical 4kW system, that takes yearly savings from £550 to £850 up to around £750 to £1,100, depending on your usage.
Shrewsbury
Installs in Shrewsbury begin with a free consultation and survey, where Gen Green assesses the property and analyses your energy use. Panels come from JA Solar or Longi, run through a Growatt inverter, and are matched to your roof layout and orientation. Our MCS certified installers complete most jobs in a day, and because we are a NICEIC approved contractor, no electrical work is subcontracted. Afterwards we commission the system, sort out your Smart Export Guarantee registration and set up phone monitoring.
Shropshire
Industrial units and working buildings across Shropshire suit solar because they consume their own generation during daylight instead of exporting it. Gen Green installs commercial and agricultural systems countywide, and the array at Shrewsbury Cricket Club is a worked local example. Our panel brands are JA Solar and Longi, with Growatt inverters, and most residential or commercial installs are completed in a day. Commissioning, DNO notifications and Smart Export Guarantee registration are all handled by us, so you have one point of contact.
Telford
Gen Green's dedicated Shropshire phone line serves Telford, alongside the rest of the county. Our completed Shropshire work includes the array at Shrewsbury Cricket Club and Tesla Powerwall 3 battery installations. Telford and Wrekin homeowners may qualify for ECO4 grants towards renewables, and we handle the applications. Every installation receives an MCS certificate, which is required to access the Smart Export Guarantee, and you can monitor your system's output, consumption and savings from your phone.
Wales
North and Mid Wales are covered by Gen Green from our Chester office. Heading west we work through Wrexham, Mold, Buckley, Connah's Quay, Flint, Holywell, Rhyl, Prestatyn, Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Conwy to Bangor, Caernarfon and Anglesey. Inland and south we cover Ruthin, Denbigh, St Asaph, Llangollen, Corwen, Bala, Welshpool, Newtown and Machynlleth. Town housing, exposed coastal homes and rural off-mains properties each need a different design, which we work out at a free survey.
Warrington
Post-war and modern housing makes up an unusually high share of Warrington, especially across the new town areas at Birchwood, Westbrook and Chapelford. That suits solar well: simple roof geometry, a decent pitch, few conservation constraints and an easy cable run to the consumer unit, all of which keep installation costs down. Gen Green fits these roofs with JA Solar or Longi panels and Growatt inverters, and a 4kW home system costs £5,000 to £7,000 with 0% VAT.
Wirral
A large share of Gen Green's Wirral work is home EV charging, on driveways and in garages, often fitted alongside solar so the car charges from the roof. A 7 kW charger is the right unit for almost every home on the peninsula, since it runs on single-phase supply, and where the incoming supply is tight we fit load management instead of pushing an expensive upgrade. We are OZEV certified, and smart chargers prioritise solar generation whenever it is available.
Wrexham
MCS covers the renewable technology, while NICEIC covers the electrical work behind it, which is where a badly executed solar job usually goes wrong. In Wrexham, Gen Green's electrical work, from isolation and earthing to the consumer unit and the DC side of the array, is independently assessed under our NICEIC approved contractor status, and every install is notified under Part P of the building regulations. We also take on general electrical work alongside each solar installation.

May 12, 2026 Report
I have recently had a small PV and battery system installed by Gen-Green.

In the past I had been ‘put off’ by other suppliers and their ‘sales’ approach.

Gen-Green were very different, a very professional service, providing me the explanations and assurance I needed.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Fabulous experience from start to finish. Generation Green found me a grant that covered half the cost and helped me to get it. Then as soon as I had the funds they were there to install. The system works perfectly and has already put a big dent in my electricity bills, and theyve been available to answer any questions Ive had since! Great service, great value.
